My life in a nutshell....

Ages 1-10 -As a kid I loved the small avocado and macadamia nut farm where we lived,  loved picking our organic vegetables, coloured perfectly inside the lines, loved big projects at school, thought that National Geographic and Roald Dahl were awesome, loved playing piano a lot, Mum read the book "Overdoing It" a lot to me (because of my tendency to do just that).

10-15- Started being homeschooled so no more bullying from the girls at school, but instead got bullied by our pet cow Tracey, loved our white rabbit Arthur, escaped to piano a lot, performed a lot, loved cooking particularly from "Cooking with Korma" when we had spare money, did swimming training 4-5 times a week and did weight training on my own, and dieted a little too much.

15-18- I started at the QLD Conservatorium of Music, was so naive I thought no one did drugs there, worked very hard on long train trips, was up at 5 most mornings to practice, loved chamber music and history of music, family fell apart, wrist messed up, music messed up, finished a Bachelor of Music in Performance (just!) and stopped half way through Honours.

18-22- I ventured out into the non music world, was teased incessantly by my future husband, loved dancing, loved wearing gardenias in my hair, worked hard played hard, became fixated on getting a job with Emirates Airlines, went through 2 open days in different cities, 4 rounds of interviews and recruitment training over a year and got the job.

22-23- I lived in Dubai on the 44th floor which had no openable window and moved when wind blew, studied hard, did not love the new-team-every-flight set up, no job support , loved Paris, Casablanca and Osaka, I became so homesick I imagined the air conditioner sound was magpies, went to Johannesburg a lot for a boy, went on safari and it was a dream come true, had jet lag for a straight year and came home very sick.

23-26- I moved to my favourite city Melbourne,  landed  jobs in companies whose products I loved, loved looking after people and was good at it, went to a blur of doctors, started to think I was going crazy as they all said there was nothing wrong, and loved my bed as I slept so much.

26-28- I loved acupuncture, loved my naturopath, created a health team for myself, worked hard on mind and body,  loved South Melbourne markets but could barely walk there, started playing piano again, and gradually moved back into music scene.

29-33- I was with my future husband, loved our talks, continued to have a rough time with my CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and Matt not finding work, loved working at MSO, AYO, MICMC, ANAM in many awesome roles, accompanied at Melbourne Conservatorium, Monash University, ANAM, MSO, and gradually started teaching and accompanying from home.

33-35- Now I love pilates, can now walk, am grateful for my car Schmickey Mouse, love my home with now husband Matt, love the ridiculous squeaky purr of our black and white cat Mister Fung, love our cat (dog) Meowstro Loopy Lopez who loves her toy Bunny, love hiking, love my job that I have created for myself, love working with Matt to create different ways of thinking about music education, love the fact that I kicked CFS out of my life last year, love gardening, love being a student of Chinese medicine, and love looking after myself with great food.
